We have called them ‘seminars’ but in fact they are a coming together of people to support each other and help understand the grief process.
A typical seminar will begin with:
- Practical Information
- Guest Speaker
- A light lunch or supper
- Time to Talk
- A one-hour Mindfulness Session
- Opportunity to connect with support group
- Information pack
Surviving Christmas – Life after Loss
Informal Meet-Up Event: ‘Life After Loss’, Binswood Hall, 9th December 2019
Losing a partner, family member or friend can be one of the hardest challenges in life and the lead up to Christmas can be particularly daunting for many of us.
Coming to terms with and accepting that someone you love has died is never easy. Or experiencing a diagnosis of either terminal or chronic illness can be incredibly overwhelming both for the person concerned and for their friends and family. In these types of situations, it may be hard to maintain the motivation for ‘everyday’ things that may have completely lost their meaning.
There are no easy answers and we are all different people with different needs. Sometimes, though, it can help to know that others may be able to relate to what you are feeling or have at least some understanding of what you may be thinking or what causes you to feel sad or anxious.
If you would like to meet others who, like you, are coming to terms with life-changing conditions or the effects of bereavement and are trying hard to live their life, in spite of their great challenges or loss, then please feel to come along to our informal ‘meet-up’ pre-Christmas event taking place in December.
This event will be friendly and relaxed and offers the opportunity to meet with others who, like you, are doing the best they can. The event will run from 6.00pm until 7.30pm and will include refreshments.
The team from ‘Surviving Bereavement’ will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have in relation to practical considerations, legal or financial advice or emotional support.
If you have any queries about the ‘meet-up’ then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The cost to attend will £10.00
You are very welcome to bring a friend or family member along with you.
We would love to see you there!
